The Power Of A Simple Link

Wow… The Internet is such a connected place and in particular blogs.

I was just tooling around and decided to take a look at Steven Lohrenz’s blog and I happened to read his summary of the article on Tim Ferriss’ Four Hour Work Week blog entry about licensing your ideas to manufacturers.

Take a look at the right side of the screen capture I took:

Steven Lohrenz MyBlogLog

A simple link and look who decided to come and visit Steven’s blog, Tim did. I guess curiosity gets all of us, I know I click on links I see in the Wordpress dashboard and check out the sites that are nice enough to or found something interesting and linked to my blog.

I find it really amusing when you see these people who zealously guard there links to and from other sites claiming “SEO” or some such. Links have power, links are what made the Internet. The biggest sites on the ‘net today try to link to as many other sites as possible.

So give a little… get out there and start linking to blogs you read or find useful as you never know who might visit your site and if the people you link to find something interesting they might just reciprocate.

BTW, Jim, the last couple of notification emails I have received from you have had no links in them for me to click to get here.
