With all this talk about article marketing I figured it was time to cover one of the essential pieces for really making your articles pull in the best results possible: publishers. Aside from writing good articles you need to compile a list of publishers to submit your articles to and the more the better.
A good starting place is Charlie Page’s Directory of Ezines. It is an updated database of ezine publishers and you can get lifetime access for a couple hundred dollars. It also covers many markets outside of the typical internet marketing circles.
You can try the Ezine Editors List… My results where rather mixed though and it is specifically geared for the internet marketing type market.
If you are short on money but have a lot of time you can fire up your favorite search engine and start searching down ezine and newsletter publishers in your target market. Be forewarned that this can be a very tedious and time consuming task but you can most definitely find some golden nuggets with persistence.
An often overlooked method is to sleuth out what sites and publishers are linking to other sites in your market… Again the search engines are your friend so look at a sales page and do a search for the domain name in the search engines and look at who is linking to them and then start submitting to those sites yourself.
Another great potential place for getting your articles published is on blogs. Unlike ezines and newsletters which tend to be published with much less frequency, blog authors are constantly looking for new and fresh content daily and some blogs do publish guest articles.
Do keep in mind you are going to need a lot of publishers, having a list of 5 or 10 just isn’t going to cut the mustard for getting maximum effectiveness and exposure. Add to the fact that not all the publishers you send your articles to are going to publish every article every time for various reasons, the more you have the better your odds of getting published and over time as you build a good rapport with publishers you will find they will accept more and more of your articles.
