I’m sure you have seen all the nifty little advertisements floating around on various blogs these days… They look something like the one in this picture:
It seems like a rather interesting concept, simply drop your card on sites that you want to advertise on. But it really looks like people using this service are blowing it big time.
You got to treat these things like any other advertising you do. I mean really… Both of these cards below are listed under the “Internet Marketing” category. So what graphic is more likely to grab your attention?

A couple of things to take away here… How targeted is traffic from a copywriting blog going to be for the health market? And you probably should have something enticing that makes people who notice your banner ad want to click on it! Naturally like everything else you need to be testing and tracking results.
Yes my example picture of a hot looking women is likely to get clicks from guys, but that really isn’t the point.

(Sidenote: No offense to Stephen Dean and Rebecca Dean, I just happened to notice the adverts while on there blogs.)

Haha, did you just call my sister hot?
I would not click on either one. Neither one has given me a reason to do so.
:o) Thanks, Jim. I’m flattered.
Does this post somehow relate to http://thekaizenbusiness.com/?p=126
(Sorry Jim I couldn’t resist!! )
Stephen— Yeah.
Rebecca— Your welcome.
Ed— Not anymore.

I would not click either of them. If I was browsing a blog about internet, design, programing and so on, I would only click an add that has something to do with this.
Good points Jim.
I like you’re game. Did you post this just to hit on Stephen’s sister? ;)
I have to be the outcast here and tell you that I’d click on the ad about a hat, sock and chain. I could probably use 2/3 of items. Of course, that’s if I decided to click on an ad.

Ed & Aaron… There was a time when that would have been true.
